Brand Guidelines

A comprehensive brand identity system designed to unify every touchpoint of communication — from digital enrollment campaigns to campus signage — ensuring consistent, premium representation.

Why Brand Identity
Matters

Authority

Focus Academy Charter School is built on a clear and intentional educational philosophy that places arts integration at the center of every learning experience. From kindergarten through fourth grade, our school is designed by educators who understand that children learn best when creativity and academics work together. Our model draws from research-backed approaches including individualized instruction, project-based learning, and community partnerships that connect students to the world beyond the classroom. Though we are new, our foundation is not. We are launching with purpose, structure, and a team committed to building something exceptional for families in our community.

Retention

Families stay at Focus Academy because they see their children genuinely excited about learning. When a child discovers that math can live inside a rhythm, that reading can come alive through drama, or that science can be expressed through visual art, school becomes a place they want to be. Parents stay because our model respects the whole child, not just test scores. Individualized instruction means teachers actually know each student, and project-based learning means students are producing real work they are proud of. Add in the convenience of free transportation and families find very little reason to look elsewhere.

Growth

Focus Academy is growing because families are actively searching for something different and we are answering that call. Traditional schooling leaves many creative children behind, and parents know it. Our arts-integrated model gives those children a home while also strengthening academic outcomes for every type of learner. Word spreads quickly when children are happy, engaged, and thriving. As we build community partnerships and deepen our programming across music, drama, dance, and visual arts, our reputation will grow alongside our enrollment. We are not just filling seats. We are building a movement around what school can and should look like.

Positioning &
Strategy

Focus Academy is the only K through 4 charter school where arts integration and individualized instruction work together to unlock every child's academic potential and creative voice.

Top Parent Objections Addressed

1
"It's too far — I can't get my child there every day."
We offer free bus transportation with hub stops, so distance is never a barrier to an exceptional education. Your child can get to school and back home safely without you having to rearrange your entire schedule.
2
"You're a new school — how do I know it will be consistent and reliable?"
Focus Academy is new, but our leadership is not. Our founder, Dr. Sherria Grubbs, brings over 33 years of education experience — including as a North Carolina Principal Fellow. Our systems, culture, and curriculum were built before we opened our doors, not figured out along the way.
3
"What if my child struggles academically and needs extra support?"
We offer afterschool tutoring and individualized instruction is built into our daily model. Our teachers are trained to differentiate — meaning they meet each child exactly where they are and use interventions when needed. No student falls through the cracks unnoticed.
4
"Is an arts-integrated school academically rigorous enough?"
Research consistently shows that students in arts-integrated environments outperform peers on core academic measures. When a child learns fractions through rhythm or reads through drama, the content sticks. Our model does not trade rigor for creativity — it uses creativity to deepen rigor.
5
"Are seats still available or is it too late to apply?"
Enrollment is first-come, first-served with no application deadline — but seats are limited per grade level. Grades K through 4 still have open spots, and applying takes just a few documents. The sooner a family acts, the better their chances of securing a seat before we reach capacity.

We speak like a trusted neighbor, not an institution. Every family deserves to feel seen and valued from the very first interaction.

Confident and Clear

We know what we stand for and we say it plainly. Families should never have to guess what we believe or what we offer.

Inspiring and Forward-Looking

We talk about what is possible for every child. Our language lifts people up and points toward a future worth working toward.

We are a new school and we own that. We lead with honesty, build trust through action, and let our work speak louder than our promises.
